What I do.
I provide expertise in the due-diligence of Innovation Projects in the Bioeconomy, addressing the typical ambiguities of their environmental and societal impacts, due to the type of methodology, source of data and various cognitive bias.
The Bioeconomy, with its vast impacts on health, nutrition, environment, well-being, is at the dawn of a revolution that is triggered by the convergence of the Digitalization and AI and the Life Sciences. More on the convergence of AI and synthetic
biologyt here, or on this coming revolution, as described by McKinsey, here .
Because Biotechs will impact on health or environment and can escape control, e.g. by self reproduction or unforeseen complexities, unintended or undesired consequences may have vast consequences. Ambiguities of such projects, when not properly recognized, can result in incremental risks that can seriously jeopardize their ROI . Therefore a careful, independent assessment of impacts and double materiality review is of critical importance for the viability of an innovation project. More on this by the WEF here, and on the content page.
